  What is a geopark?
  Geoparks are regions with many outstandingly beautiful or important geological heritage sites (such as geological layers, rocks, topographical features, volcanos, or faults), selected through a process of scientific observation of the earth (geo). Geoparks include not only the land itself, but also the culture of the people who live there, such as festivals and lifestyles unique to the natural environment.
  Xiangxi UNESCO Global Geopark is dominated by karst landform landscape, featuring red stone forest, Cambrian GSSP and plate-cut canyon landscape, as well as typical geological events, ancient glacial climatic events and Paleozoic remains.The park generally presents four characteristics: the global Cambrian standard stratigraphic section - GSSP;The world's largest ordovician red carbonate rock forest;Spectacular cutting plateau karst platform - canyon landscape;The model of integration of karst geological ecology and minority culture.
