Trilobite fossils in Silurian System in Purong Town
There are plenty of fossils of various kinds in high density, mostly Coronocephalus rex Grabau in addition to cephalopoda, brachiopoda, bivalve and crinoid stems, with individual size of 0.5 - 3cm and being intact. They are exposed in the silty mudstone of Wujiayuan formation oflower series in Silurian system (S1w) and have rich fossil layer of about 3m thick, falling into marine facies sedimentary zone (photo 1-51 & 52).
