Located in Dehang Miao Ethnic Village, Jishou City, Dehang Grand Canyon is 15 km long, 900-1300m wide and 300-430 m deep. It is generally flat and box-shaped (Figure 5-7). The canyon is constrained by two groups of tensional fracture extending in north-northeast and northwest directions, and is shaped in a crisscross pattern in Dehang Miao Ethnic Village. Together with the secondary gorges, they combine to form an X-shaped canyon group, consisting of Hangxia Valley, Xinzhaihe Valley, Jiulongxi Valley, Jidou Valley and Yanxi Valley. Within Dehang Grand Canyon are developed many middle and small scaled fractures, joints and fissures, rock walls, and rock pillars. At the end and cliffs of the canyon are also developed a few waterfalls, which are often misty and look like a fairyland.
